Research Proposal

For my research topic I’m thinking about researching my family ancestry. I’ll have to wait and see what my work schedule is like for the next couple of weeks, but I can make time to see my Grandparents (Mom’s parents) and my Nana (Dad’s mom). They are the oldest living relatives I have so they can probably give me the most information. Honestly I don’t know a lot about my family history. I know on my Mom’s side of the family somewhere down the line I’m related to Daniel Boone’s brother (George). My Dad’s Dad passed away when he was 17, and my Nana didn’t keep in touch with his family that well so I’m not sure how far I could research that side of the family. My Nana always told me that she was a related to a Cherokee Indian princess. Guess I’ll find out if that really true or not in my research. I’ll probably use Ancestry.com, and any other family websites that I could sign up for a free trial for a certain amount of time. After we watched Faces of America it really made me interested in learning about my family. Where they came from, why they came to America, what origins and historical things did they do? I’m really excited to see how my research goes.

    Family ancestry is always a great and interesting topic to research. My Nana actually researches this as well and finds many interesting things about our heritage. Hopefully you find some interest in your family heritage as well! Good Luck!

    I wish I could find out more about my heritage but when my great grandparents came to America they changed our last night slightly so its very hard for me to find anything out about my family. This will be very interesting to find out where you're from!

    It's weird to think about how little some of us know about our ancestors. It could be something that is handy to have more knowledge on.

    I bet you're going to find some really interesting things about your family. You could probably teach your family a lot of things after doing this project! Reading this has me wanting to research my family history on my mom's side because she's from Okinawa, Japan.

    My grandpa is very interested in genealogy and spends a lot of time researching our family ancestry. It's so cool to see where you came from and what your family was like in the past. You'll probably find some interesting stuff.

    This topic will be of great reward. Knowing your family means knowing yourself. Knowing yourself will help you realize your dreams and make you a little more happy. Hope you work schedule works out.
